Book concept

In 2007 Martin Glisby and Nigel Holden combined forces to write the first case-based book on tacit knowledge in international business.

The four case studies, based on extensive research by the authors, focus on Danish, Japanese and Chinese firms in contrasting business sectors - pharmaceuticals, automotive components, jewellery and retailing.

The book conclusively shows that tacit knowledge:

  • is created in cross-cultural interactions in firms' international networks
  • is a misunderstood and undervalued asset in formulation and implementation of strategy
  • can provide a company with new sources of competitive advantage.

The book Creating knowledge advantage: the tacit dimensions of international competition and cooperation appeared in April 2010.
